(Dave Doughman, of Swearing At Motorists in Berlin @ 8MM Bar, 2007)
Hey Everyone, hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving, I ate a lot of food and drank too much wine, but it was nice to get the family together for those hours.....Anyways, I wanted to take this time to introduce a band that has been my favorite rock duo ever since I saw them in 2000 at the now collapsed venue GO! Studios in Chapel Hill, NC. They are Swearing At Motorists, originally from Dayton Ohio. These days frontman Dave Doughman resides in Berlin, Germany. Drummer Joseph Siwinski lives in Philly. When we were on tour he came to our show at a sketchy little venue called the Fire Room, and hung out with our drunk asses after while we tried to find a house show where our friend Jessie was playing with Castanets. I really can't express how much this band means to me; their music has been with me through hard times and lazy summers. Their early song Nice Guy's last Finish is the inspiration for this blog title. Here's that track, which is off the album The Fear Of Low Flying Clouds which is now out of print:
Nice Guy's Last Finish

And in honor of yesterday being Turkey Day here's another appropriate song off that record:
Reluctant Pilgrim
I would post these for download, but I don't know if that'd be cool with them, and frankly, I feel kinda special that I own a copy of these rare early recordings and you don't. ENJOY!
