I couldn't agree more with these nice old people. Can I just rant for a second here? I HATE ANIMAL COLLECTIVE and all the other repetitive idea-less talent-less shit out there. That goes for Black Lips, Wavves, Dan Deacon, everyone of them can go choke and die in a giant pile of effects pedals and broken keyboards. It sounds bad and every major indie music critic just jumps on board and praises every kid who wears neon clothing and plays a mini moog. Is this their idea of a movement? WRITE A FUCKING SONG!

FUCK THIS NOISE BULLSHIT
PS: I'm not saying you need to play guitar or even drums - just do something that sounds good or is ACTUALLY subversive, and/or interesting. Anyone remember Suicide?

SUICIDE: Oh yeah! Alan Vega and Martin Rev!
If you've never heard them and you suck down the new noise no wave swill - start listening immediately! Start with this:

Also - Young Jeezy - "You're speaking my language if you're talking 'bout tilapia" ? Seriously? Are you that out of ideas?
disclaimer: there are exceptions in each case, but for the most part this shit is at best lazy, and at worse annoying mind torture to listen to.

This is you and Grey in 30 years on your podcasts. I hope you can find a 3rd person.
Hey, I like Black Lips.
I guess what I'm saying is I'm not impressed by the majority of the music Pitchfork triumphs. Titus Andronicus? I was at one of their Brooklyn shows and that dude sounds like a more annoying drunk Conner Oberst. I don't care how "hard" his life is. The other 2 bands, Deertick & Castanets (in particular), in my opinion were WAY more interesting. One month later: video of Titus An-suck-icus from that same show is up on Pitchfork TV. Same goes for Blacklips - a lot of (bad) sound and fury - not much content. Is this music new/relevant/a reflection of our young musical culture?
As I said there's exceptions for me; I LOVE the new Deerhunter record. The Pains of Being Pure at Heart get my toes tappin'. I even thought Vampire Weekend had some decent songs.
I guess that's just how big media works - Pitchfork is definitely included in that equation for me now. But who cares? We're all slaves to that website anyways...
Why don't you tell them how you really feel about the Animal Collective?
The New Album by Animal Collective is garbage. Did u see them on Letterman? Not my cup of tea. I must admit this album is listenable
Other than that, my opinion has not faltered.
