Marmoset - Tea Tornado

Marmoset, the Indianapolis band making wonderful jangle pop songs for 14+ years releases their 6th "studio" record today, Tea Tornado. I say "studio" because the majority of their catalog was recorded in their own home studio (squeaky bass drum pedals abound!) I love Marmoset, and u should too; I have a had a secret love affair w/ their deceivingly simple songs ever since my days as a college radio DJ @ WUAG in Greensboro, NC. It began w/ the shambly, lo-fi genius of 1999's Today It's You and then picked back up w/ the brilliant Florist Fired,(2007). I remember the DJ review scrawled on the inside cover - "It's like if The Velvet Underground were an eighties band." Though that's a simplistic description, it holds true - few bands can achieve the mystic feats that singer/bass player Jorma Wittaker, and guitarist Dave Jablonski do w/ 4 chords. I don't know, I'm trying for words, but just have a listen to their newest offering and hopefully you'll buy it, as I'm going to when I get off work. It's freakin' good dude.
