Introducing.....

HIDDEN LAKE PARK

The Hidden Lake "water park" is a sketchy little lake for backwoods hippies and rednecks off highway 54 in between Chapel Hill and Saxapahaw. I ventured there once in my very young days w/ my best friend at the time who lived in a trailer near the park. His family loved going there - it was the highlight of the summer. I got stuck at the bottom of a big tube slide and as a result, was creamed by a large girl coming down the slide. The famous sign was always a comforting landmark on my way home from college at UNCG, or on the way back on Sunday evenings, ready to start the week.

HIDDEN LAKE PARK is my friend Reed Benjamin making beautiful acoustic music on his own. His latest 7 song offering Of The Land is available as a free download. Reed recorded it on a 4 track, which is something I'm a big fan of. He writes on his blog: "All of the songs except for one were written during the recording process and it was my first time using a four track machine. It was a ton of fun, I highly recommend it. It was a very cathartic process that resulted in a concise concept album." I couldn't agree more.

Go download Of The Land HERE

And check him out on Myspace too: http://www.myspace.com/reedbenjamin

PS: Reed is playing w/ my band Embarrassing Fruits Dec 12 @ The Cave in Chapel Hill if any of you readers live nearby...come see him in the flesh.
