Hot Album Prediction: 2011

I must say, after the release of last year's Causers of This I knew Chaz Bundick, AKA Toro Y Moi was destined for great things...but these hot and sweaty funk jams that have been popping up on the internet far exceed my expectations. Whereas Causers owed a lot to the sad, introspective moody side of Chaz's musical progression, this new shit just makes you wanna dance...and I assume many a cute indie kid will when the new album Underneath the Pine drops. To add insult to injury - Chaz is just a really nice dude. I met him at a tiny show his old band played with mine a few years back in Chapel Hill. We discussed, among other things, both of our desires to be professional graphic designers...looks like he won't need a day job much longer if there's any justice in the world.
