So, I always thought Springsteen was a tool, basically because all I knew him for was "Born in the USA" and let's face it, that song is terrible...and he is kind of a big ham. But so what? He's earned it.
Thanks to age, and some listening to his other albums (Born to Run, Nebraska, even Tunnel of Love) and some beach trip car rides with my gf who loves him, I've come to appreciate aspects of his career and artistic/literary sensibilities.
A likely pairing perhaps, Kurt Vile and Springsteen. I enjoyed this Neil Young-esque take on the song "Downbound Train" (kind of ironic how it's on Born in the USA)
The cool thing about this song in particular is the relateability/universalness ( is that a word?) of the lyrics. Philly meets Jersey. Rad solo at the end too.
