A Muzik Seen in Review

So a little while ago Pitchfork posted the video Wefun: Atlanta for one week only. I watched it in-between spats of work at my desk during lunch breaks mostly. OK OK, I am starting to understand the music that I sometimes claim to hate, .i.e Blacklips. So I guess what I'm saying is, I enjoyed the film; it kinda made me nostalgic for simpler times I had in College and the great music scene that flourished in Greensboro, NC which was generally perpetuated by great house shows (Corndale) and Summer-stupid-drunkfun cookouts. It painted a picture of Atlanta that much reminded me of Greensboro: a timeless morass where great bands are born and mostly die out as a result of not wanting/caring/being able to tour as much as they maybe should? (this is a constant conflict/question in my mind - what's the real point of touring?). I identified w/ most of what was going on in the film, but also realize the hipsterishness of it all, and the fact that it is much larger now, and more attention is being paid due to the success of Blacklips and Deerhunter, along w/ King Kahn & The Shrines, etc etc. Anyways here's the trailer:

I recommend seeing this movie if you can find a copy somewhere. It was sorta like a the baby brother of Athens GA Inside/Out, the great film about the 80's Athens scene that bore R.E.M. , Flat Duo Jets and others. Here's a clip of the explosive Flat Duo Jets from that movie (Jack White anyone?):
