Revival: Deerhunter Continue To "Do It"



Just found this new track by one of the consistently best bands in the "indie" music morass. Deerhunter offer up their new track Revival from their forthcoming album Halcyon Digest. It's an odd, balmy pop song that should be an ipod summer hit, sandwiched between Ariel Pink and Neon Indian (or whatever the kids are listening to these days). What I like about Deerhunter and just about anything that front-man Bradford Cox is involved in, is that you can really tell his great taste in music of the past has factored into the music he makes in a really smart, automatically enjoyable way. He distills what was good about the past and updates it for our listening pleasure, never going a minute over what our short attention spans can handle. It's like Velvet Underground meets Sergio Mendes or something. Uh, just listen:
